Jeff Teitelbaum
Jeff Teitelbaum runs the forensic library and research services for the state of Washington’s Forensic Laboratory Services Bureau, the six-lab crime lab system of the Washington State Patrol.
He supports the information needs of nearly 200 scientists in all disciplines associated with the modern crime laboratory: Toxicology, DNA, CODIS, Chemistry, Microanalysis, Arson, Firearms, Questioned Documents, Crime Scene Response Team, Latent Fingerprints, Blood Pattern analysis, Drug Recognition Experts, Breath Test, and Ignition Interlock.
He has presented workshops for various organizations, including the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, instructing on searching techniques for locating forensic science information using online databases and search engines.
He is a member of the National Safety Council’s Committee on Alcohol and Other Drugs. He has also been the principal research associate for the 8th edition and forthcoming 9th edition of Dr. Randall Baselt’s Disposition of Toxic Drugs and Chemicals in Man.
He holds a Master’s degree in Library & Information Sciences from the University of Washington’s Information School.
Jeff’s previous career was in the film industry in Los Angeles, California, where he was a studio executive at 20th Century Fox Studios, as well as a story editor for several of the top film producers in Hollywood. He was associated with a number of feature films, including The Firm, Searching for Bobby Fischer, and Little Man Tate.
