Alka Lohmann

Alka Lohmann obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Virginia and received her Master of Science degree in Pharmacology & Toxicology from the Medical College of Virginia (MCV) at Virginia Commonwealth University. She continued to conduct laboratory research at MCV until she joined the Virginia Division of Forensic Science. Ms. Lohmann was employed as the Forensic Scientist Supervisor in the Breath Alcohol Section, then the Breath Alcohol Section Chief and is currently the Program Manager for Calibration and Training at the Department of Forensic Science. She currently serves as President of the International Association for Chemical Testing (IACT) and has previously served on the Board of Directors, as Vice-President and as Secretary for the Association. She is a Diplomate of the Forensic Toxicologist Certification Board (D-FTCB) in Forensic Alcohol Toxicology. Ms. Lohmann is a member of the Executive Board for the National Safety Council Committee on Alcohol and Other Drugs. In addition to numerous presentations and demonstrations for law enforcement, attorneys and judges, she regularly testifies in courts throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.
