Robert Forrest

Robert Forrest has worked in Sheffield for the last 28 years and is currently Professor of Forensic Chemistry at the University of Sheffield, Professor in the Faculty of Health & Welfare at Sheffield Hallam University and assistant deputy coroner in the jurisdictions of South Yorkshire (West) and the North Riding of Yorkshire & Kingston upon Hull.

He has been involved in the investigation of a number of high profile cases including deaths of public figures in road crashes, murders in hospitals and many others. He testified in the coroner's inquest in the investigation of the fatal crash in Paris involving Dodi Fayad and Diana, Princess of Wales.

Academic interests include: within medicine, the methodology of the investigation of fatal drug overdoses and breath alcohol measurement. Within law, issues relating to the medico-legal investigation of sudden, unexpected, death, the ownership of body fluids, scientific evidence generally, the investigation of homicide in hospitals, crimes related to witchcraft, magic and occult practices and misuse of drugs in sport.
